Excuse our dust; we are updating for the coming semester!
retired: Ella DavisI am a Senior here at Virginia Tech, majoring in Geosciences. I am doing research under Dr. Law looking at recrystallized quartz from the Moine Thrust in NW Scotland to be used in estimations of flow stresses and strain rates in the thrust. Last Fall, I participated in the department's Study Abroad in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, where I was able to learn about the geology of the Alps, geo-archaeology, and Europe.
I'm looking forward to getting back to campus with the club so we can find some new geology hikes and collection trips, talk about rocks, and hang out! |
Retired: Carly HeltzelI am a senior at Virginia Tech majoring in Geosciences with a concentration in both Geology and Earth Science Education and minoring in Classical Studies. I am also doing research with the Paleontology department describing teeth of Reticulodus synergus. Last fall I participated in Virginia Tech's study abroad experience based in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.
During the weekends and school breaks I enjoy researching possible collecting sites as well as travelling across the east coast to expand my rock, mineral, and fossil collection! Geology Club has been one of the best things about my undergraduate career at Virginia Tech and as an officer I strive to show others how amazing geology is! |
